Why a single hourly number can mislead

Hawaii Secure does not publish a universal rate because pricing depends on the site, duties, service model, schedule and written terms. An employee wage, a security company’s customer bill rate and a vendor’s advertised range are not the same thing.

Do not treat a competitor’s advertised range as a Hawaii market average or as a Hawaii Secure price. Request a site-specific written proposal instead.

Use the same-scope comparison table

Before comparing totals, place each proposal beside the same scope assumptions. A patrol visit is not equivalent to continuous post coverage, even if the headline prices look similar.

  • Fixed post, scheduled patrol or another model
  • Dates, days and service windows
  • Duties, post orders and included areas
  • Supervision, relief and reporting
  • Regular, overtime, holiday and short-notice treatment
  • Minimum hours or commitments
  • Vehicle, equipment, travel and technology charges
  • Exclusions, change approval and cancellation terms

Ask for clarification

When a line item is unclear, ask the bidder to state the assumption in writing. The final agreement—not a general webpage—should define the price and operational commitments for the property.
